BRUNEI TRIP

wah, now is 3am. just came back from brunei. it has been a hell of a 20 days. its like finally they let you out from hell and you got alot of things to say , so much that dunno where to start from.

so anyway i will start from the start. we go there by plane, bus, boat, whatever. all forms of transport was used to get there( to the camp) . you can imagine how ULU it was. finally when we reach the brunei based camp, we had a welcome lunch. it was western meal but got this very heavy smell on the rice, so i never eat much. the whole camp looks like it was in the 80's or sth.

the first day was pretty much admin and introduction.

the 2nd day started and OMG man, the breakfast, lunch and dinner was OMG!!! i only ate white rice cos the rest of the items are super disgusting. like dunno what kinda mutton and those funny veggie. hungry until want to die. then if i rmb corrrectly, we started our training on that 2nd day. some compass thingy, nothing much

forward 1 or 2 days, then it came one of the highlights. it was the SWAMP WALK TRAINING.

the SWAMP WALK TRAINING is NOTHING LIKE WE HAVE EVER DONE. its like. 1000x worse than tekong jungle. 50% of the whole thing is softmud, as in, u will sink till knee level for every step you take. ( or more ) and there got alot of sandflys, and whatever insects. talking about insects, brunei insects their size, is singapore insects size TIMES TEN. so anyway, we walk through about 1 hour of mud, then later we reach some hard ground,. but the terrain is super ultra thick, have to use parang to chop down all the leaves and all those. walking on mud, you will have a tendency to grab on to surrounding tree branches BUT now here comes the tricky part - ALOT OF THE branches have NEEDLE LIKE THORNS on them. so you cannot touch them abit. if not bleed la.

wah, walk walk walk. 2 km of swamp walk 8 hours cannot walk finish. ( imagine how thick and difficult izzit to walk). then we BO BIAN, have to STAY IN THE SWAMP FOR THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its like OMG . HELL X 10 !!!!!!!!!!!! about 6 teams went back, and 3 teams have to stay back in the swamp. so no choice but to accept fate. while building some shelter, then it rain. and rain and rain , about 5 times throughout the night. sleep on hard ground luckily. my friends from the other team. they slept on mud or something. and there were ALOT OF SANDFLIES at the area unfortunately. all of them got bitten at least 100 to 200 bites per person by the sandflies. on the face, arms, body, legs. EVERYWHERE. when they come back camp to show us, we dio shock. SHOCK until never before. HUNDREDS OF BITES YOU KNOW!!!!!!!!!!! on the face also have!!!!!!!!!

ok after this nightmare, then got some easier training. like learning how to kill quills!!!

hahaha its like , u grab the quill, then u pull its head off. kinda disgusting. in my whole life i dont dare touch animals one, then now ask me grab a bird and kill it. kinda ridiculous.

so anyway the first quill that i grabbed, i grabbed it DAMM TIGHT, cos i kan chiong ma. then hor, it just died. i think it suffocated, cos i was squeezing it very hard. then the trainer ask me to go get another one. this time, i hold it abit less tight. then i when i pull the head off. the bird became hysterical! the headless body just anyhow keep on flapping its wing. damm disgusting. then finally after a while. the bird die liao. then now we have to skin it and remove all the organs. very disgusting one . the smell until now i also cannot tahan.

after that training, we had another excercise. this one is just walk walk walk walk walk only. but brunei is up and down , down and up. damm shaq to walk. not like tekong, all is flatland.

after that walking exercise, we finally have our first canteen break! it was CHAOS. like some riots or sth. everybody wanted to eat , but they can only produce so much food at a time. anyway, whenever we go canteen, its very fierce, because we will tend to eat and eat. easily $20 to $30 gone per canteen break. i brought only $50 cos i read on a blog that says that in brunei, no need to spend so much money. BLUFF ONE SIA. just 2 canteen breaks and i was broke already.

then the last exercise, is the MOST FAMOUS OF ALL. MOUNT BIANG. the thing is like, we have to climb the mountain and then shoot some bullets, then the exercise can end.

we dunno is sway or what. we did the WORST VARIATION OF MOUNT BIANG --- specifially, the RAINY REVERSE BIANG -- (RRB).

normal biang is go up the mountain, then u cross a river ( so you get wet at the end, which is easier)

but we do the RAINY REVERSE BIANG. damm headache sia. we have to cross the river first, then climb the mountain. to be wet throughout the whole exercise is really miserable. especially wet boots. ON TOP OF THAT. IT WAS RAINING LIKE NEVER BEFORE. DAMM SLIPPERY SIA.

fell down no less than 10 times. i also dunno how to climb one. u carry the stupid heavy bag, then some parts , then slope is like 70 degrees up. then also must climb up. wah, RRB is not say very easy. talking about the river crossing. it was hell for me.

i nearly drown sia.

we were suppose to swim over to the other side of the river, but the current was quite big, so it kept sweeping us away. the safety boat see no choice, but to help us, so he ask us to hold on to the side of the boat, while the boat will bring us back on track.

and so i held on 1 handed on to the front part side of the boat. the other hand holding the rifle. ( scared the rifle drop into the river). so starting still ok, then the boat starting to move.

initially, my face was tilted sideways, so my left ear was totally in the water. then, as the boat move faster, my face was now facing the sky, left about 5mm, before my mouth would be submerge in the water.

then now, the boat move abit faster more.

HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my head was totally under the water. I WAS UNDER THE BOAT!!!!!!!!!!! wah knn its like some mission impossible movie likedat. i damm kan choing, quickly let go of the hand grabbing the boat, and anyway whack the boat, or anything to attract attention. at the same time, i was at the same spot undet the boat, WHILE THE BOAT WAS MOVING FORWARD!!!!

WHICH MEANS THAT THE MOTOR BLADE IS GOING TO HIT ME!!!!!!!!!!

i tried to dive down, but CANNOT!!!! cos got the LIFE JACKET!!!! talk about it saving your life.

so i try to swim away, PRAYING TO ALL THE GODS to keep me save from the motor blade. if that thing hits me........

anyway, i struggle for about 5 seconds under water( or rather under the boat). then finally, !!!!! i burst out of the water! spit out the river water and cleared my nose. and WAS SAVED!!! damm heng sia.

they always say this kinda thing is a once- in- a- lifetime experience, i totally agree. i mean, you can only die once rite?

so aside from all those nightmares scenario, we had a tour on the last day of brunei, which was 2nd OCT.

went to this water village, muzium, musuem. and shopping. the musuem GOT NO AIRCON ONE . i mean, where got musuem no air con one?? thats very ridiculous. and oh yea, we went to TWO MUZIUM. ( thats how they spell it ). then finally at lunch, we went to tthis hotel for our buffet lunch.

wah , ate like a madman, eat and eat and eat. after that, we go shopping.

the shopping is pathetic at best. they brought us to TWO shopping centre. the first one was erm rubbish? the standard is about thomson plaza or sth likedat. the 2nd one, called ' The Mall ' , was a tad better, quality about century square likedat.

so after all these tour, then we go home alreayd. on the aeroplane, we all cheer. cos ITS FINALLY HOME TIME!!!!! ..

i tried to watch die hard on the plane, but kinda sleepy, so only watch abit nia. they got quite some of the latest shows. finally when the plane landed on singapore. we cheer again. damm happy.

i said bye bye to all the aircrew member. and one of the stewardess said : " SEE YOU AGAIN SOON! "

haha, in my mind i thought, " NO WAY IN HELL I WOULD GO BRUNEI AGAIN! "

(non funny) ok i had this really strange dream and i though i should share it.

The Journey to underworld.

so one day i fell asleep la, then i dream. the school annouce there's this trip available for students. However, its not a normal trip, its a trip where you HAVE TO DIE in order to go on the trip. if you are lucky, maybe you can come back to life(after the trip ended). For some reason, i SIGNED UP!!! and i ask my beloved rika to go with me!! ( hey , its a dream ok?).

So we went on the trip together.

At the start, we were asked to do a death testing. We were asked to hold our breath in our water till we are dead.

ok, so we submerged our heads and hold our breath. i kept telling rika, hey, its gonna be fast. we are gonna die soon. ok so we held our breath, tick tick tick. suddenly the teachers ask us to get up. ( out of the water) . chey , actually it was a trail only.

ok so the next part, we were going to take Bus 60 to go to a place where we will actually be killed or sth( so that we are dead). and so we go.

when we reached there, i suddenly start the realize, what the hell am i doing here? why am i going on this wth death journey? i realized its a retarded activity and so i shouted for rika. but she was nowhere to be found. everyone else also shouted for her. but i still did not see her. i got really worried and started to cry. i tot she already went on the journey.

then sudddenly she appeared. Whoo!! it seems that she went to the toilet with her girlfrens. haha. then we escaped from that shit hell place and along the way, we saw this Bus 60 and there were many students on it. they were going on the journey.

then i awake. tamade wad a nightmare.
